If you're a senior engineer weighing a move to the UK, these 5 open roles are listed with visa sponsorship on The Stack, and three of them state the salary. They'll let you:

  • Put self-driving software into real vehicles in London

  • Lead a TypeScript team at a fast-growing AI procurement startup

  • Ship LLM-powered product at a London startup paying up to £150,000

  • Write Go and Java services that move people and money

Freshness check: we opened every employer posting on 26 October 2026, and all 5 were live. Postings close without warning, so the sooner you apply, the better.

Bring Wayve's self-driving software up on new vehicle programs, from benches and HiL rigs to real cars, and build the shared frameworks that make the next integration faster.

Perfect for robotics and automotive engineers who like debugging across the software and hardware line, not just writing services.

Key skills: C++, Python or Rust on Linux; ROS2 or similar middleware; CAN and Automotive Ethernet; sensor calibration; NVIDIA DRIVE or Qualcomm Snapdragon Ride.

At a glance: London · hybrid · 5–10 years · posted 23 October (3 days ago) · no salary on the listing

The Stack's take: Wayve is the busiest UK hirer here, with 24 listings on The Stack in 90 days. The catch: bring-up includes work at international test locations. Best for: a C++ or Rust engineer who wants their code in real cars.

Perfect for full-stack tech leads who want to step into management without leaving the codebase.

Key skills: TypeScript across the stack; React; Postgres; AWS serverless (Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge); Pulumi and GitHub Actions; system design.

At a glance: London (Victoria office) · hybrid, in the office Tuesday to Thursday · 5–10 years · posted 21 October (5 days ago) · no salary on the listing; pay depends on levelling

The Stack's take: One of only 2 Omnea roles on The Stack in 90 days. The catch: the posting now calls it Team Lead Manager, so expect people management alongside the code. Best for: a TypeScript tech lead ready to manage.

Kernel logo

Ship product features end to end at Kernel, a small startup building a business registry that AI agents use to identify companies.

Perfect for backend-leaning product engineers who want a lot of ownership in a small, fast-moving team.

Key skills: Node.js, TypeScript and Postgres; LLM application patterns (RAG, prompt engineering); AWS and Kubernetes; Next.js and React a plus.

At a glance: London · on-site, at least 3 days a week in the office · 6+ years · posted 20 October (6 days ago) · £110,000–£150,000 plus equity

The Stack's take: Its £150,000 ceiling, plus equity, is the highest figure stated on this list. The catch: the posting sponsors visas for "exceptional candidates", not everyone. Best for: a TypeScript backend engineer who has shipped LLM features.

Wise logo

Perfect for Java engineers who think of an API as a product and enjoy setting standards for other teams.

Key skills: Java and Spring Boot; Kafka; PostgreSQL; REST, OpenAPI and OAuth2; domain-driven design and microservices.

Before you apply: the salary line that matters

For a Skilled Worker visa, the job will usually need to pay at least £41,700 a year or the "going rate" for its occupation code, whichever is higher. Each occupation code has its own going rate, so ask your employer for the code and check it in the going rates table. In some cases you can still qualify on at least £33,400 a year, and your employer must be a Home Office approved sponsor. The three listings above that state pay all clear £41,700; for the other two, ask for the base figure early. Source: GOV.UK, Skilled Worker visa: your job.

How we picked these

We started from the 31 senior engineering listings in the UK added to The Stack in the last 30 days, all marked as offering visa sponsorship, and kept software engineering roles with one per company. Then we opened each employer's posting. Synthesia's Platform Engineer, AI tooling (Senior or Staff) had already been taken down ("Job not found"), and Nomura's Senior Java Developer, Rates Intraday Risk Technology is now advertised as an Associate role, so neither is here. Everything in "At a glance" and "The Stack's take" comes from the employer's own posting or from counts of listings on The Stack.

Wrapping up

Start with the role that matches the stack you already use every day. New visa-sponsored jobs land on The Stack every morning, and the best senior ones land here.
